Friday the Thirteenth

DJ Elizabeth walks into a house and hosts a party at 3:00am on Friday, October 13th, 2051. He plays a mixture of music and pumpkins start falling from the ceiling of the house. His voice starts wondering if something odd is happening.

“What is happening right now? Why are there things falling to the ground?”

A scarecrow walks up to him whispering into his ears. “You have entered a place more dangerous than the Twilight Zone.”

DJ becomes flabbergasted not realizing what is going on and slowly but surely, starts reducing the amount of music being played in the house. “How did you get here and what are you trying to tell me?” DJ hesitated and carries on with running the party.

However, creepy activity carried on with spells being casted by witches and spiders littered the walls of the house. Several people left the house fearing for their safety and scrambled to villages where they would stay during the day. Realizing what was going on, DJ ended the party and left the house.

“I thought this was going to be calm, but I must run.” He fled the area and dug a hole in the ground to escape.

The pumpkins that fell from the house DJ was in were reincarnated and became snakes. Morning arrives and villagers wisely left the town after hearing what had happened the previous night. Ghosts woke up and flew into any part of the town that was occupied by a resident while scarecrows stood at the doors of any house they could find.

At every house they could fine, all the scarecrows said, “Open up, there’s something I need to say something important.”

Walls of the houses turned purple while the roads turned red. Witches placed spells on residents who refused to leave and attempted to turn them into a witch. “Leave right now or a spell will be casted.”

DJ managed to leave the area and fled to a community 13 miles south- west of the village that was turning into a cursed town. He went to a house that could operate any level of music that was desired. After walking in, DJ lowered the audio of all the equipment to not have the music be so loud, that the village 13 miles south-west could not hear.

After lowering all of the music equipment’s audio, DJ shut all the windows inside the house and placed layers of blankets at every window to ensure nobody outside the house could see what was going on inside. The windows on the doors were taped by pillows getting stacked on top of one another, and doors were locked.

“If nobody can see through the windows, this is a good sign everyone is safe” DJ started playing music and adrenaline entered his body not knowing what could happen next.

Scarecrows left the village that was 13 miles south-west and marched to the community to find that there was nobody to scare. Doors in were locked, windows were sealed ensuring nobody outside could see what was going on inside, and furnaces were blocked from anything getting inside. Before they left, the scarecrows tried to use spells the witches casted on them to try and break inside any of the houses. However, the scarecrows began attacking each other with brooms and created chaos that nobody in any of the houses could see. Pumpkins fell from the sky onto the scarecrows and spiders were biting onto the witches.

DJ was relaxed and calm knowing that none of the scarecrows could get into the house he was “I’ve got a good feeling that terrifying things are not going to be happening in here. This plan is working out.”

Taking a break from playing the music, DJ disguised the blankets and pillows on the windows as the same colors that were in the house from the village he had been at the previous night: purple. None of the scarecrows and witches noticed the change of color in the windows and became confused as to what was going on. Soon afterwards, the roads turned to green and made the scarecrows color blind. Every witch that was bitten by a spider collapsed, succumbing to the bites from the spiders. Pumpkins landed on any spider that had bitten a witch.

One couldn’t understand what was going on and looked on at the destruction unfolding, “Why are the witches collapsing instead of me, but why are pumpkins falling frantically on the spiders?” All of the houses outside walls turned red, causing carved pumpkins depicting the number 13 to land on any surviving witch.

Villagers returned to their houses and noticed all of the witches on the ground having not gotten word of what happened. A villager pondered “Was there witchcraft that’s caused all of these witches to be on the ground?”

DJ went to an underground passageway and reached the surface and was confused along with all villagers.

A mysterious voice broadcasted an announcement “Get to an area inside, you must leave the scene or consequences will be dire.”

Everyone outside went to an underground passageway that took them to the house DJ had been at when the chaos ensued. Somewhere outside, every witch had vanished without any trace as well as spiders and pumpkins while the roads turned from green to purple. The walls on the house’s exteriors turned from red to purple while the interiors remained purple.

“So did anyone figure out what happened to the witches?” said DJ.

One of the villagers replied, “I have no idea. I was not in town when that happened and frankly, nobody has a clue as to what took place.”

As the day passed by, not a single piece of evidence from the brawl between the scarecrows and witches was recovered. Police searched the entire town extensively and couldn’t find anything that caused the brawl to happen. Scarecrows had fled to an unspecified location where they had to stay due to the injuries they sustained during the fight. The town closed for the day after the sun had set and the incident was determined to be a mystery that had no evidence to solve the case.

Police offers searched every house, road, street, and underground passageway in the town where nothing was found.

“We searched every possible area and couldn’t find anything.” One of the police officers said.

Another officer added “The situation confused everyone when we arrived and asked some of the villagers if they saw the brawl. Some of them told us they weren’t in town when it happened while others said they didn’t hear what was happening and didn’t know a fight happened.”

The community moved on and never thought about the incident ever again.
