Another child’s eyes dried up from tears
They’ve held the weight of their trauma for years and years
Their little arms so small so frail
Forced to hold the weight of their parents’ fails
Their bodies a canvas for artistic mothers
Covered in splashes of multifarious colors
Trained to lie, cover, and excuse
Their delicate figures mistreated, abused
And into adulthood their abuse undone
Their chance of recovery slim to none
For it attaches to them like a parasite’s grip
Weighing them down like an anchored ship
The things they heard the things they saw
pierces their dreams like a dinosaur’s claws
Nightmares repeating again and again
Constantly bringing them back to when the trauma began
We need to act now let’s help end their pain
Show them the love they deserve to obtain
As the scars they hid soon comes to fruition
Revealing the things, they tried keep hidden
Soon what they’re used to will simply repeat
Birthing more generations of abuse and mistreat
A repeating cycle they may never escape
Save the children before it’s too late
